12-year-old Bay 14.3 hand Gelding Gun In A Bar “Bandit”
The time has come for Gun In A Bar "Bandit" to go on to the next phase of his career, helping someone achieve their barrel racing goals. I've trained and sold several that went on to win with others, and I've been holding on to him because he filled my WPRA permit and helped me accomplish some of my biggest goals. He has lived in North Texas his whole life, so his wins and placings are legitimate.
He is Priced accordingly based on the below information.
He is proven and has run with the best in North Texas. He has won races with over 300+ entries, placed in races with over 500. I filled my permit on him, he ran a 14.8 at Glen Rose (when a 14.8 would get you into the American), 2nd in 1D the WPRA side pot at Elite, 5th in the open. Multiple low 14’s at Northside. Also ran a 13.9 (old pattern) with a barrel down at Northside. Won Northside with a 14.1 (old pattern) Has won and placed in multiple arenas.
He is a strong running horse that runs both left and right. Most of his winnings are to the right. I've run him to the left over the last couple years. I’ve won local 1D money to the left. Go left or go right. It's up to you. I trained (along with my husband) this horse and we have owned him since he was 2.
He is a kind horse, walks in and out of the alley. You can trail ride him, I’ve even gone team sorting on him. Great hauler, nothing really bothers him. He likes being popular and seems to think that everyone came to the barrel race to see him. Some may say he’s “fancy broke” he does the things you would expect of a broke horse, softness, collection, leads, yields, slow spins, roll back. However, when you ask him to run he is all Business and is more “hold my beer” type of horse. Lightly started on the poles.
He is hard to get past the second and third barrel but if you put him in the right spot he'll be near the top no matter the competition. If you don't he'll hit a barrel. He's currently 1D/2D (2D at Texas Supershows 500+entries, ran 7 tenths off in the WPRA cardholder race at the WPRA finals in 2022) depending on how conservative you want to be about getting around the barrels. He can easily cruise 1 second off of the best of the best in the country. He's likely a 1D horse in other parts of the country.
No vices.
I have over 30 videos of him running over the last 8 years.
I'm an open book when selling horses. Call me. Ask all the questions. I think that is what is best for the horse.

Because I'm looking to start another horse, I am open to a partial or full trade on a horse 3-5. However, my first priority is that he gets a good home.
