IB Irresistible
"Sasquatch"
19 year old gelding, 16'2, can run right or left, but I have always ran him to the left.

I have owned Sasquatch for 6 years. He was ran consistently the first 3, and was 2D/3D at bigger shows and 1D at local horse shows. I took 3 years off from running him (I still rode him) and then ran him a handful of times last summer (2023), and he picked up right where he left off. He rodeoed with his previous owner, and he was a successful futurity horse in his youth.

The Good:
- He is the easiest horse in the world to catch in the pasture. Tap on the gait with a rock and he will walk right up to you. He is super friendly.
- He is a fabulous trail horse
- He stands well for the farrier, loads, and hauls without issue
- We have never had to inject him.
- No tuning/training necessary. Just keep him legged up and go.
- Consistent in the arena. Once he is in, he will do his job every time.

The Bad:
- He has gait issues - PLEASE READ FULLY. When I first bought him, I was made aware that he had a history of refusing at the gait, which is why his previous owner was selling him. The very first time I ran him, he was stubborn to get in and would sit and turn circles. Once I got him in that first time, he did his job, and I didn't have a single problem with him for 3 years. In the summer of 2020, I took him a big outdoor pen and he reared with me. That is the only time in the years that I rode him that he ever did it, and he has never offered to since. After that, I took time off from running him because we got some new horses that we needed to put time and energy into. Last summer of 2023, I decided I was going to start running him again just to see where he was at. He did give me grief at the gate each time I ran him, but nothing dangerous (just sitting and spinning away from the gait). We worked out a system to where my dad would hold him in the alleyway, and I would jump on and go, and that worked well and he did fine. I'm not sure what sets him off. I can ride around inside in an open arena with no issues, and I can do all the training runs I want with no issues, but he definitely knows the difference between a practice run and a real run. His gait issues are the only reason I am selling him as I have 3 other horses I am currently riding, and I don't have the time that he deserves to dedicate to fixing his problem.

I have several other videos/pictures if needed. If you have any other questions, please feel free to text/call me at 870-476-3493 or email at mnailling1@gmail.com. Open to offers!
