7 yo Sorrel Gelding, started by Bobby Haberlandt as a 2 year old, spent 5 months with Dallas Dewees in 2023 getting patterned on barrels, needs to be seasoned in the barrels more and tracks the calf dummy, but currently clocks in 3d with lots of room for improvement. He was turned out for most of 2023, but has hauled and spent the night at some rodeos in Florida. I would say he has about 5 months of solid hauling to barrel races and entering in 2024. He eats and drinks great on the road. He has a lot of “go” and likes a job. He is a good size horse, so he may be a great bulldogging prospect too. He’s watchy and jumpy, but doesn’t buck. He’s light in the mouth, I ride him in a 3 piece twisted wire lifter bit. Sometimes I use the Martha Josey Million Dollar bit. I’ve owned him since he was 2 and he is a really nice horse to ride around on and has all the athleticism in the world to make a nice barrel horse, I just need to sell him so I can get a breakaway horse because that’s where my heart is at. He doesn’t have enough natural rate and “whoa” to be what I need in the roping pen. Requires normal maintenance. Willing to negotiate for a quick, easy sale.
