This clinic will provide an in-depth look at the colt starting process that is the foundation of a training program that has produced over $1M in Equistat earnings by performance horses in barrel racing and roping events. All participants and auditors will receive access to Phil’s signature Foundation & Fundamentals Colt Starting course with their registration.
Students can expect to learn colt starting methods and horsemanship philosophies, including:
– Establishing trust and respect with your horse
– Desensitizing your horse and building your horse’s confidence
– Training using a pressure-release system
– Controlling the horse’s five main body parts
– Performing correct repetitions of horsemanship fundamentals
– Safety when handling and riding colts
– Developing fundamentals for long-term performance success
