"DP" is one of the best confidence builder barrel horses we have ever come across!!! He has ran consistent 1/2D times and will run 2/3D anywhere - against the best in the world! He ran a second off of Babyflo and Fallon Taylor just 2 years ago and he was just pulled out of the pasture, loaded, and showed up to the race ~ not at all fit, and barefoot! He is as auto as they come to ride and handle and take through the barrels. So much fun!!!! Just sit and kick, so extremely automatic and smooth, gives just what he is asked for! Walks to the alley absolutely straight, relaxed, and flat footed as could be, waits for you to send him, and stops soft and straight in the alley and knickers after he runs. He knows his job and loves his job. He is exceptionally quiet and super around the warm up pen, gate, alley, trailer, etc. As trained, solid, and been-there/done-that as they come. This horse is a joy to have around. If you have a brand new rider, or a timid rider that needs a confidence boost, they do not come much better then this! He has a super easy, smooth, balanced lope, big stop on "whoa", neck reins like a dream, and goes around on a long loose rein. His rider can pitch him away at a walk, trot, and a lope, and he holds whatever pace you put him in. Happy kept inside, loves to be pampered, and content living turned out in the pasture too! Currently barefoot, easy keeper, gets along with everyone, easy to load, bathe, clip, shoe, saddle, bridle, etc. Excellent ground manners. Sweet, friendly personality - always the first one to the gate! He has enough to him, that his rider won't outgrow him for a very long time, but he is trained, solid, and simple and easy as they come! He recently took a brand new youth rider to a barrel race - that had never-ever ridden or been around horses previously - and clocked with a brand new completely novice rider and won a check!!! This is a tried and true old saint of a horse, and there are not a lot of these out there! We will be legging him up and hauling him and adding more runs until sold - and price will increase! He clocked in the 2 and the 3D at two huge weeknight North Texas races, one with nearly 70 entries, and the other with 130 - against some of the toughest competition. He has room to add speed, tighten the pattern up - he's not currently in shape at all, these videos are straight out of the pasture! He should be able to get in the 1/2D consistently again with a little maintenance, legging up, shoes, etc. This is the horse I am holding on to for my own daughter to step up to when she is ready to run at the jackpots,...if she moves up to that while we still own him, then he absolutely will not be for sale! These guys are so very hard to find. Excellent home is a must, and we would love the opportunity to buy him back in a couple of years, if his new owner is willing to sell him back!
