First Sweet Stone, aka "Girlfriend", is basically automatic and can mortally fly. I am selling her because we do not fit. She needs to go to someone who can ride her to her ability
(which is outstanding
), and that is not me.
Girlfriend is NOT for the faint of heart, as she is both wicked fast and extremely quick n agile in her turns. She WILL require a seasoned competitor, only someone who is BOTH quiet handed and has a LOT of confidence. She is very sensitive, and picks up on even the slightest of cues, so you must be confident n let her run, and run hard...she will do the rest for you. Her turns are automatic. I say light handed, because she knows how to turn, and doesn't want you on her face. She runs in an O-ring wonder bit, or a short shank Bozo hack, no tie down.
I would definitely call her a free runner, not push style. That being said, you cannot sit down on her too soon on 2nd or 3rd barrel...if you do, she will set up and you'll lose time. You do NOT have to "drive" her into the turn, but you do have to stay forward until its time to turn.
The ONLY reason she is for sale is because in the last few years I've sustained some serious injuries horseback, and I simply cannot ride her with the confidence she needs. My husband trained her, we've owned her since she was 3. I love her, and she will ONLY go to a GREAT home, where someone can win on her like she is capable of.
If you and Girlfriend "click", you will have a serious 1D Texas tough horse for a fraction of her true value.
She is sweet and has great ground manners
(we don't put up w/nonsense
). She is calm at races, and will walk fairly quietly down alleyway.
