Josi is a pretty, well broke mare on the barrels. She can go through them very nice, but needs more time to adjust to new settings where she is out of her comfort zone. Her dam is a $70,000 stakes winning mare. I think she got pretty rattled at the track and the atmosphere at the barrel race bothers her. She has only been entered 4 times, I just feel she needs to just be hauled along and allowed to adjust at her own pace. I do not have a finished horse, so I am mainly home training colts. The ideal situation would be with someone who has the patience to wait on her and can just take her along and let her see its ok. She is still futurity eligible and could possibly be ready later in the year. Right now, she lets her nerves get the best of her and it affects her run. I have moved cows on her and took her trail riding and she did well with that. She is not spooky, she just lets the atmosphere, announcing, activity of the barrel race get to her. She is super talented though and if she comes around, she could really be something. She has a ton of work in her and I feel I have priced her fair so someone can take a chance. I live near Longmont, come try her, vet checks welcome.
