Description:
Streakin Ruby is a 2 time AQHA Congress Reserve Champion (Amateur Pole Bending and Amateur Select Barrel Racing). She also has numerous other top fifteen finishes at the AQHA Congress. She runs much harder in poles and is a consistent 20-21 second pole horse. She ran a 20.3 when we were Reserve Champion at the Congress. Ruby is a a solid 3D barrel horse at shows like On the Road With Dawn and Clea but will jump into the 2D at smaller jackpot shows close to home. She has been the NBHA Canada 3D Average Weekend Champion at the NBHA Finals in October of 2015 (Hoosier Fame won the 1D Average that weekend).

Ruby has been off for most of 2016 and 2017 because we were trying to get her in foal and then she did have a foal in 2017. My dad got her in shape once the foal was weaned and ran her once last December. The plan was to get her in foal this spring but we did not have much luck getting mares checked in foal this spring. If Ruby was in foal, she would not be for sale. I have just started riding her (have about 10 rides on her) as we just found out she was not in foal. I will be happy to share all the details of the breeding drama we have had if you are seriously interested in purchasing Ruby.

Ruby is easy to ride at home and there is no silliness even though she has been off for a while. I had no worries about saddling her up and getting on. She will slow work the barrel and pole pattern. She does not require any tuning during the week. We just keep her in shape and go to the barrel race. Ruby is good for the farrier and also clips well. She is a very kind mare and loves to eat both at home and on the road. She will stand tied to the trailer all day at a barrel race or stall well.

When fit and running often Ruby does have a tendency to get strong at the gate. For this reason I would not say she is beginner or pee wee rider safe. An experienced youth would be fine.

Again, if this mare was in foal she would not be for sale and the price will increase as I get her more fit and start competing on her again. Vet checks welcome at buyers expense and I have an arena available to try her. The link below should be for a Google file with more videos and pictures of Ruby, along with her first foal.
