Description:
Very well bred, seasoned barrel horse. Take her, point her in the right direction, hustle her along (or dont - probably makes the difference of 1D whether you hustle her or not). She doesnt require tuning during the week. Probably want to keep her on a more restrictive diet if you arent riding her for exercise as shes an easy keeper and doesnt take much to keep her. Previous owner did some lunging with her during the week to keep her fit. Shes excellent down the road and on trails. Ive never seen her spook at anything. Everything shes ever been pointed at on a trail, she goes over or through. Im told shell swim with her rider too, but we havent tried that. Shell go out alone or in a group. Shell lead or follow. Pony other horses off her and shes never offered to kick anybody no matter how close they get. Shes beer drinking, husband horse broke down the road and on trails. Doesnt matter how long she sits, just jump on and go. She stays broke. If you want to use her to run barrels, I wouldnt put a beginner on her. Doesnt need to be experienced, but someone who can keep their seat because shes got power. She will run anywhere from top of the 2D to 4D open. Can throw a rope off her but we dont rope. She was an 11 second pole weaving horse with previous owner. We havent run poles on her. She will work cows and is a solid sorting horse. Great for farrier, tying, loading and unloading in the trailer, vaccinations and wormer. All the things. Shes mid to low in pecking order. Runs right, push style. Shes a power house. Shes wide and generates power. No maintenance. We dont even shoe her even though we do ride on gravel. Shes got good, hard black hooves. They dont chip. She doesnt get grain or any sort of supplements. Shes on a round bale during winter and pasture during the summer. Heres her down side: she gets anxious going in the gate. We bought her without knowing it and have handled it fine, but you will notice it. She doesnt do anything crazy or rear straight up or come close to flipping over or anything like that. It is preferential to be able to run the gate with her. However, we have taken her to horse shows and 4-h where you cant run the gate, and its manageable. She just gets anxious and sometimes needs some coaxing to enter the arena. Sometimes I lead her in and sometimes we use another horse and sometimes she will go on her own. $8,000 OBO Email for videos and pics. Ive got plenty.
