Darla is a beautiful 7 year old mare that stands 15.2 and is super broke and a pleasure to be around. She runs barrels, is patterned on the poles and has roped our slow lead steers out of the box. She would make a great head horse and she has a hard stop for breakaway too. This mare can fly and has been in the 1D quite a bit but she is inconsistent and I would categorize her more as a 3D horse. She is super ratey, won't go by barrel and she tries so hard every time. She would be absolutely perfect for a younger girl to ride as a step-up horse. My 8 year old daughter has been riding her all summer and doing great on her, she's just a little too powerful for this momma to handle right now. When I run her, I run her on lasix but my daughter never asked her hard enough to warrant any of that. She has been to a handful of rodeos and nothing bothers her. She�s good at the gate, easy to warm up and a pleasure to be around. She is enrolled in the Top Shelf Breeders Incentive and last year she won the 3D average at their finals and won over $3,000 plus a saddle and a scooter all in one weekend. I bred and raised this mare and she comes from a long line of winners. Her mother was a true point and kick kind of girl that ran consistent 17.6-7�s on a standard and her grandmother ran 17.2�s with her 12 year old pilot (me). If you are looking for a nice horse on a budget, this is your girl. She is priced less than she is worth because she won't pass a vet check. She gets sore in her back due to her conformation. You can inject her yearly or run her on banamine/bute if you want a competitive 1D horse or if you are just looking for a fun, nice 3D step-up horse, she's going to be just fine the way she is.
