Description: BDQ Scrutins Cartel �Reno� � 2013 AQHA Brown Gelding � 15.3�16 HH Reno is an advanced youth suitable barrel horse and would make an outstanding partner for a junior high rodeo, high school rodeo, Little Britches, or even college rodeo competitor. Qualified for NLBRA Finals for the past four years, although we chose not to attend this year. Most recently, he competed at the All American Youth Barrel Race (with 660 entries) where he ran in the 2D and 3D, placing in the 3D Short Go and finishing 2nd in the Average. Around home, he mostly runs in the 1D/2D at local jackpots. He is fancy broke. He has gone through the poles at home some, and could easily run poles with more slow work. I was told he has worked cattle with previous owner. Reno has excellent ground manners. He stands tied, loads and unloads easily, is great for the farrier and baths, and stalls quietly while traveling. Wears a wedge shoe on his front, and stays barefoot on the back. He's an easy horse to haul and be around. He is not suited for a rider who is heavy-handed or rough with his face. He doesn't need to be drilled on the pattern every day to be competitive. Keep him legged up during the week, then go make your run on the weekend. Like any performance horse, Reno requires routine maintenance. He had a complete lameness exam with current X-rays performed by Dr. Badger in Mayfield just last month and received a clean bill of health. UTD on all vaccines.
