Description:
Performance Built Saddle, with a Vernon Purdy tree
(the latest Gen3 version of his tree
).
4" cantle
It has been lightly used for a year - I love Vernon Purdy saddles, but I have decided to sell this one because I need a slightly bigger seat. This one was marked on the website as a 15 inch,
(not by Vernon but PBS whom he had partnered w/ in the past
) but I feel it fits more closely to a 14 1/2 because the pommel tilts forward and adds a little length when measuring.
If you’re not familiar with his trees, you can see a video he made about them. There are several unique features and they’re designed to eliminate pinch in the shoulders and minimize spine pressure from the skirting behind the cantle. The tree has more surface contact in the middle of the back, allowing for less contact and pressure points in the front and back of the tree.
The stirrup straps are also hung over the top of the tree instead of looping underneath the tree, which eliminates any pressure point from a stirrup strap against the back.
I have a custom, wider tree built by Vernon Purdy for my very wide mare - this saddle I'm selling would not fit her, but is made to fit a vast majority of builds, because of the tree design.
The saddle comes with a back cinch-
shipping additional cost. From 76082.
(paid $3250 new in July '23
)
