We've used Moonshine to rope in multiple locations and situations, including a Spring Branding. He's been asked to handle cattle that outweigh him and has always given us everything he's got. Once the work was done, he quietly switched gears and ponied kids around without a second thought. He takes every job in stride and has a great mind about him.
For a young horse, his experience speaks for itself. His age certainly doesn't reflect the miles and exposure he's had. He's spent countless hours on the trailer, hauled to different places, seen all kinds of country, and comes back the same horse every time. He also handles time off exceptionally well—pull him out after a break and ride off with confidence.
Moonshine has a deep stop, smooth transitions, and a smooth travel. He'll ride around on a loose rein, neck rein one-handed, move willingly off your leg, side pass, yield, and turn around with ease. If you want to put an English saddle on him and cover some ground, he'll do that too.
Out on the trail, Moonshine is sure-footed and dependable. He watches where he puts his feet and takes care of his rider in rough country. He's been around runners, dogs, strollers, traffic, farm equipment, wildlife, cattle, and all the everyday commotion that comes with real-life use. On the ground, he's just as enjoyable as he is under saddle. He gets along well with other horses, is easy to catch, stands quietly for the farrier, and will ground tie. He's the perfect size—easy to get on and off while still being stout enough to comfortably carry riders of all sizes.
