Finn is being offered for sale at absolutely no fault of his own. I truly never thought I’d post him, and I’m honestly devastated to let him go. My original goal was to breed, break, and train my own horses, but life changes have unfortunately pushed my horses to the back burner. Finn loves attention, enjoys having a job, and deserves someone who can continue bringing him along. He is the type of horse that will run up to you in the field and just wants love and attention. Though he is mouthy and has been literally since he was 6 days old.
I started him as a 2-year-old in just a halter and bareback in a hay field . He later transitioned to a loping hack, and within the last year I started riding him in a snaffle. Finn is the type you can hop on and ride off with a loose rein. He is incredibly smooth.
He has been trail ridden extensively and crosses creeks, large logs/downed trees, bridges, and obstacles without issue. He has been ridden around traffic, sidewalks, and near a high school, and even stood quietly watching a homecoming parade go by. His main interest is usually just other horses. I have roped off of him and tracked cattle but it’s been a while. He has gone with me to check cattle quite often. I have taken him to fairs when he was little so he has see some sights but he hasn’t been anywhere in a while.
He walks, trots, and canters circles, does simple lead changes, stops well, and backs nicely. He does need additional work with body control and collection work such as more refined shoulder and hip control. I can get him to do it, but I’ve realized that’s not my strong suit as a trainer.
He has also been trotted through poles and handled it very well.
�He hauls well overall but can paw in the trailer at times. He is hobble broke and does better when he has hay in front of him.
* UTD on vaccines and Coggins
* Stands okay for the farrier; I typically use Dorm Gel, though I’ve been gradually decreasing the dose
* Has always been barefoot, though I do think he would benefit from shoes if hauled or worked consistently
* Scar on right eye from a previous corneal ulcer (does not affect him)
* OCD surgery completed early 2025; I have hock X-rays available
* No lameness issues before or after surgery

I would truly love for him to stay somewhat local if possible so I could still see updates on him 🥲. He means a lot to me, and I will absolutely cry when he leaves.
PPE welcome at buyer’s expense. I don’t currently have a great place to ride him at home, but we can arrange a day to haul to an arena for serious buyers.
