We can't pass up a horse that needs help. And for the record, I know there are people who abuse animals, but the majority of those people surrendering their horses, truly love their animals. They have been hit hard by these economic times or by health reasons and can no longer afford or care for their animals. They give up their pets out of love for their well-being. I applaud them for that and hope they know we will do everything in our power to provide these horses with a second chance home that is kind and loving to them.
I lost my position with the company I was working for due to economic downsizing. Thankfully, the public has supported us enough to take care of over 30 horses last year!
At a minimum, the costs are $150 per month, per horse. So if it seems that we ask for your support too much, please understand that we are not taking a penny for profit. We don't get paid except by the horses when they give us a kiss or nudge, or when they leave to go to their new homes and new journeys.
The funds raised go back into the care for medical, maintenance and food for these guys and for others who need to enter the facility. Every little bit helps and is deeply, deeply appreciated. It's a never ending bucket if we all continue doing this work and changing a horse's world for the better together.
We can do so much good when we all partner together!
