"Rue" is a finished 1D barrel horse that is ready to go. He is safe, sound and FUN! Rue is a big boy but he LOVES small and indoor pens. We run in several HUGE outdoor pens and his only fault is that he can get by the barrels (mainly the first) a bit in those pens. His previous owner didn't have this issue with him, but were not running in 19 second pens like we do. I am only selling him because we just don't click as well as I'd hoped & I need a new breakaway horse for college.
Rue has been to rodeos, jackpots, little britches, etc with several 1D stats and rodeo placings. He can be 'on the muscle' at the gate, but nothing that is unsafe. He has a big motor so he needs an experienced rider. He has been roped off as well, but wouldn't say that he is a finished rope horse. I headed off of him, his previous owner/breeder started him as a breakaway/tiedown horse, as well. Can work on the ranch all day and hit a race at night!
He hauls, stalls, eats, drinks, etc on the road like a champ, has been everywhere! He is a super sweet personality, and loves attention! He gets his teeth done every 6 months, he gets annual hock injections - that's his only maintenance.
Injuries/scars- he has a scar on his hip where he had several stitches, does not give him any trouble.
Nostril- he ripped his nostril and had to have it stitched, you can barely see it. It happened when he was young.
He requires a special shoe on his front left from an accident where he tore his hoof wall off 3-4 years ago. He hasn't had lameness issues on it and you can talk to our farrier or vet about it, if you have more questions.
