Meet Rip! I purchased him almost 2 months ago and I just don’t get along with him. We are just not clicking the way I hoped. Hopefully in different hands and in different situations, someone can bring out the best in him as he deserves the best.
He is a 7-year-old, 16-hand bay gelding with incredible bloodlines — Dash Ta Fame, Playgun, and Smart Little Lena. He’s built, correct, and bred to be fast and strong.
On the barrel pattern, Rip has been running mid 17’s in the indoor arena in South Jordan, mid 16’s the indoor arena in Grantsville, and 17.0’s in the indoor in Salina. He is extremely fast and powerful, but not for the faint of heart. He’s not fully finished yet, but with more runs and seasoning, he has the potential to shine at the highest levels. He also knows poles and has been used on the ranch with cattle, giving him the versatility to go many directions. He would make a phenomenal breakaway, bulldogging, or rope horse in addition to his barrel potential.
He is an absolute gentleman on the ground. He’s respectful, easy to shoe, bathe, haul, and handle. He stalls well, stands quietly, and is sound with no lameness issues. He is currently maintained on a daily calming supplement and has also been run on guanabenz.
