In 2009, Markel acquired Agri-Risk Services, Inc. Led by Dr. Lance Allen, D.V.M. and Barbara Kirby, we have combined the expertise of our Kansas staff along with our Richmond team to form Markel DIRECT.
Markel, known as the Insurance Company with Horse Sense, has insured horses and horse-related risks for over 50 years. Markel DIRECT will provide direct insurance services for equine professionals and hobbyist alike. Many of our employees were horse owners long before they became involved in the insurance industry.
