I am a former personal trainer for the Josey Ranch with over 20 years experience training barrel horses. As a trainer and mentor, I believe in keeping the process simple and fun. I pride myself on honesty and always keeping a positive attitude. I take my time with each horse and treat them as individuals, letting them tell me when they are ready to move forward in their training process. I do not start hauling horses until they are well started on the barrel pattern.
I will not start horses on the pattern until I feel they are broke to my specifications. I want these horses to be well started on lead changes, shoulder and hip movements, good stops and back ups before I show them the pattern. I also want them to break at the poll and be light in the mouth.
I take horses in on consignment also. If you want to offer your horse for sale, I will take them in for a monthly set rate and keep them in shape, tune-up, haul and campaign them at events and on my website.
